Commodore 64 Demos & Other Artsy Retro Bits

This special section is dedicated to 8-bit retrocomputing and contains different Commodore 64 demos as well as different kinds of old school pixel art connected to C64 demoscene productions that I either created myself, or else contributed to with graphics.

As a result, some of the stuff you'll find listed below are either freelance productions that were made just for the fun of it, while other things were created for a specific release or event, such as a demo party compo, and are tagged as being connected to either of the two C64 demoscene groups that I'm currently a member of: Blazon (BLZ) and Hokuto Force (HF) .

Simple as my own little demos and graphics might be, it's worth mentioning that they all derived from 100% human effort, meaning that no such things as image converters, visualizer tools, nor AI of any kind were used to create them.

Assembly Language rocks! :D

Individual demos (PRGs only) can easily be downloaded from the list below - just click on the title, whereas a zip file containing all the demos can be downloaded here . However, note that they are all Google Drive downloads. If that particular download option for some reason doesn't work, then these demos can also be found over at CSDb along with other C64 scene productions that I've contributed to (see the "Credits" section).

The SID tunes featured in my freelance demos all come from my "C64 Dabblings" chiptune album which can be downloaded for free from Bandcamp or from my Google Drive .

One other detail worth mentioning - although this particular setting only applies to C64 files, is that all my SIDs and all my freelance demo PRGs were made to be compatible with the PAL 50Hz system. Running my stuff with NTSC 60Hz will make them run noticeably faster than intended, so keep that in mind.

The pixel art can be viewed by hovering the mouse over a thumbnail, and some of the same graphics can be found over at C64GFX , although do note that this alternative location is maintained by other people. It is not synchronized with this website and thus may not contain the same list of pictures.

PETSCII directory art that I've created for various occasions and productions along with pixel art contributions for demo group releases can similarly be viewed here by hovering the mouse over a thumbnail. However, do note that these are just picture links. If you're interested in the complete demo group production and/or disk file, then visit my profile at CSDb and locate it there.
